According to José Manuel Lopes, "French artisan who immigrated to the USA. Son of a craftsman who arrived in New York at 15 years old. He opened a pipe factory, which eventually employed 6 workers. He also produced pipes anonymously for countless North American brands (notably Barclay Rex) and there is even evidence that he made all the pipes for the Wilke brand, as well as pipes for the military. He later set up in California, where his son has continued his work."
