Dietmar Böck, born March 29, 1959 in the Allgäu, a region in Swabia in southern Germany. Having completed an apprenticeship in carpentry, he was gifted a pipe by his wife for his birthday, and soon started tinkering with his own designs. He took several classes with Bertram Safferling, and began selling freehand pipes made of Calabrian briar in 2007, and continues to produce pipes in his spare time.

His pipes are stamped with D. Böck Pipes in several different patterns, and the pipes retail for approximately €150-200.

Currently the pipes are sold through the Pfeifenkonsulat website.
