From Pipes, Artisans and Trademarks, by Jose Manuel Lopés'

Franca Ferretti, known as Donna Franca in the Italian pipe world. She began as an apprentice at Brebbia, where she eventually was put in charge of production. In 1968-69 she was part of the Brebbia women's team that broke the world pipe smoking record, with a time of 2h and 42 m. The pipes used by the team in many competitions were designed and produced by Franca, who today is fascinated by literature and popular traditions. In 2001 she created a "feminine pipe" (although t isn't particularly small) for Brebbia Grandi Designers della Pipa special series, called coce (nut).
