From Pipes, Artisans and Trademarks, by José Manuel Lopes

J.B. Russell (JBB) is a North American distribution company for which a number of makers produce pipes -- Italian and French, in particular, such as Chacom. The company, which has a special relationship with Sasieni and Charatan was started by a World War I colonel, who after his military career, opened two tobacconists in London and Manhattan. After his death in the 1930s, the company continued in family hand until it was bought by Damiel Blumenthal in 1970.
