Lannes Johnson is an artisan from Texarkana, who is a graduate in Medical Technology, his profession for around thirty years. He began making pipes in 1997, having first bought a kit from Mark Tinsky, and later learned the art from Trever Talbert.

Lannes prefers making traditional shaped pipes, working with Greek brair and with stems in vulcanite and lucite.

Stamp: Lannes Johnson or more recently LJ in a heart ("pipes from the heart"), adding the grade, date, origin and handmade. Former grading (ascending): L (Legion), T (Tribune), C (Centurion), G (Governor), and E (Emperor), to which he adds the numbers (1 to 5, according to the beauty of the wood and the design of the piece). Current grading (ascending): one to five hearts. Symbol: LJ (in gold, silver, or white) in a heart.
