From Pipes, Artisans and Trademarks, by José Manuel Lopes

Skapi is a Swedish brand/factory, the acronym of Skandinaviska Pipfabriken, in Uddevalla. It was founded in 1936 by Max D. Schwab, who was descended from a German family of pipe artisans. Skapi, which made classic shapes and system pipes, closed at the end of the 1960s.
