Patent

The London Vuillard & Strauss Ltd., seated 50-52 Fann Street, London EC1, was the English trade representation of Vuillard in Saint-Claude. It is safe to assume, that the pipes were produced there, too. Bowls and stems were - a very common use to save on taxes - shipped seperately and the stampings were attached on the island: "Made in London".

Maurice Strauss ("… a Citizen of the Republic of France") in his function as managing director of Vuillard & Strauss Ltd. ("… a company incorporated under the laws of England") applied for a patent on a system pipe with interchangeable bowls in October 1928. In September 1929 the patent was registered.[1]

Brands: Lord, Turf - Bruyere Garantie.
