-Born on the Main, reared on the Lahn and settled on the Saar – yet still at home on the Kenmare River.
-Grandson, son, brother and father of pipe smokers, enjoyed my own first pipe at 14. Was that even before my first kiss? For sure!
-As a student, made a "pilgrimage" to Copenhagen in a Citroen 2 CV. Bought and marvelled at Larsen and Bang, was bowled over by Ann Julie. Scrimped and saved.
-Have since become a lawyer, husband, and father of three children. Have acquired the tranquillity, carefulness and patience necessary to make pipes.
-Earlier – still in those rough-and-ready years – made friends with Pit Rohrbach.
-Mutual interests unite: Ireland, old English sports cars, Bonsai... and the love of seafood.
-And for some time now, that of pipe making.
