Rubinovich bei GBD entwickelt, als der eine „Billigpfeife“ speziell für den kanadischen Markt suchte. Benannt wurde sie nach Rubinovichs Sekretär, Mr. Leslie W. Plumb. Dieser wiederum schrieb die Geschäftsbücher „schön“, was man wohl „to doctor figure“ nannte. Somit hatte die Pfeife ihren Namen weg. Eine weitere ist die '''Peter Piper''', wie die Dr. Plumb’s dann in Saint-Claude hergestellt. Ein schönes Beispiel dafür, dass Stempelungen wie „London Made“ oder „London England“ auch bei älteren Pfeifenmarken nicht immer völlig vertrauenswürdig sind. Nicht nur heute werden in Saint-Claude ...zig Marken für Herren aller möglichen Länder gefertigt. |

Rubinovich in 1925 when GBD France needed “a cheap line of pipes" especially for the Canadian market. In fact, the new brand was nicknamed for Mr. Rubinovich’s secretary Leslie W. Plumb, whose most important business was "to doctor figure" the ledgers. La '''[[Dr Plumb’s]]''' a été développée par le directeur des ventes parisiens J.B.Rubinovitch en 1925 quand GBD avait besoin d’une " ligne de pipes bon marché " spécialement pour le marché canadien. En fait la nouvelle marque fut baptisée du nom du secrétaire de Mr Rubinovitch, Leslie W. Plumb dont le travail le plus important était de « soigner » les comptes. Dr Plumb’s fit son chemin et pas seulement au Canada.
