From the Tarok Briar website:

I was born in 1961 and grew up in an idyllic rural area - priceless! At the moment I live in Ingolstadt with my family, several wild animals, some saxophones and guitars and old decks of playing cards. Pipes have always been an interest of mine. In the winter of 1997/98 I acquired a pre-drilled briar block to produce my personal dream pipe. Since 2001 I have my own small workshop. The dream pipe?... came differently than I expected.

About pipe shapes. A pipe is made of lines. Not only a pipe, but the whole world is also made of lines. Therefore the whole world is full of pipes. You only have to discover them.

I manufacture between 0 and 40 pipes a year. A few of which are made from olive wood. After cutting, the moulding occurs mainly using various rasps and Dremels, which are my preferred tools. No sanding discs, no belt sanders. The stems are crafted out of acrylic or ebonite, or a new synthetic material combining the qualities of both. Most of my pipes have no filter. Other woods are used for the shank of the pipes with three parts. Anything is allowed, as long as it does not hinder the pipe`s function. The pipes in the gallery are for sale. However, as the “immense” production number shows, this website is primarily to show any interested pipe enthusiasts the work that I do.
