On November 23 (in the same year of the release), a column in the New York Times entitled "Books and Authors" congratulated Alfred Dunhill for making the pipe "a gentlemanly art". Alfred was also elected a member of the Royal Society of Arts in 1925 as a consequence of this work. The book has been available for several years in several versions.
