Heinrich Kallenberg founded the "Pfeifenfabrik Heinrich Kallenberg" after WW I in 1919 in the small Thuringian town of Tabarz. His grandson Hans Kallenberg took over the business in 1965.

Being in his 70's Hans Kallenberg was still making pipes occasionally after his only daughter, who learned the profession of pipe crafting as well, left for a better paid occupation. He has finally retired now and so another wonderful piece of Thuringian pipe making history slowly fades away.
