In 2011, Hendrick Wood Creations (HWC) was formed by artist Chris L. Hendrick in Pearland, Texas. HWC offered hand turned wooden bowls and one-of-a-kind hollow forms. Later that same year, their focus turned to high end writing instruments, crafted primarily from wood burls. In 2014, Hendrick Wood Creations formed Lucky H Pipes and shifted focus towards handcrafted briar pipes.
