Pat M. Vottis ran his workshop in Schenectady, New York from (appr.) the end of the 1940's to the midst of the 1970's. He was one of the very first American carvers who made freehands in a moderate Danish style which are fairly estimated till today. Vottis preferred briar from Corsica.
