Michele's passion was born when he met his work-mate, an old man who collected pipes. His grandfathers were also pipe smokers. Biota in the Torinese dialect means 'naked or nude'. For Michele a pipe is a naked item to watch and observe. He enjoys walking in mountains and woodlands, and there he finds inspiration from nature that inspires him to create original and new pipe shapes. He also finds inspiration from the following pipe makers: Chris Asteriou, Yves Backstoner, Andrey Savenko, Klaus Zenz, and Abi Natur , which he mentioned in an interview: https://alekosoul.com/2015/11/24/intervista-con-la-biota-pipe/
