For years he worked as in-door pipemaker at the workshop of '''[[Pibe-Dan]]''' in Copenhagen (closed in 1991), where usually the pipes were stamped with the specific maker's name in addition.
 
As many of his colleagues Ib Loran sold pipes on his own account, too. Beside Pibe-Dan they were available at Poul Olsen's P&T shop.
