Sam was a part-time pipe maker from Little Rock, Arkansas. According to the "1987 Directory of American Pipemakers" (published by Pipe Collectors International (PCI)), he produced about 125-150 pipes per year. He passed away in 1992. Sam is reported to be the nicest guy you will ever meet, making pipes in a old garage behind his house while working full-time for the telephone company. Pipe making was his hobby--he made very rustic pipes with great briar.
