'''Roman Peter''' is the brand and name of the Swiss artisan born in Zurich in 1963. A qualified furniture artisan, Roman is also a traned restorer of English and Oriental antiques. He started making pipes part-time in 1985, and restores all brands in the most varied materials (wood, clay, porcelain, meerschaum, horn and amber, among others), using the appropriate original techniques. In 1993 he opend his own shop, Peter Tabakwaren -- with a great variety of pipes and tobacco, where he also has his workshop.
He makes classics and freehands with briar from Greece and Italy, and ebonite stems. Roman makes about 50 freehands a year, which sometimes have highly original shapes. "In my workshop, small works of art are born, but also classic shapes, always with the best quality briar", he says. The brand is only sold in his shop.
