Greetings,

I have a Kirsten pipe that I recently decided to clean.

The descriptions of generations suggest it is from the first. However, one difference from the descriptions to mine is the stem is stamped 'PATS & PATS PEND. - M'. This ie different from the descripton as it is 'PEND.' not 'PENDING'. This appears on the bottom of stem. On one side 'Kirsten' in itialic typeface is stamped. There is also a circled 'M' on the black 1/4 bent mouthpiece. There isn't an o-ring on the valve (flattened on one side for alignment). The mouthpiece has what appears to be tape which I suspect was added for fit. The bowl is a smooth, brown, stamped 'KIRSTEN' on the bottom of the base, and is in the 'Mandarin'shape.

Are corrct o rings for stems available for purchase?

I am not pleased with the current state of the stem. I cleaned and polished it with only limited success. Any recomendations for a polish for the stem?

Thanks and regards,

J

I'm not sure how much this article is monitored, but my guess is that would be your best bet for information.
