I recently acquired a large lot of pipes from an estate. It included many lovely styles and well known brands. There are 2 mystery pipes that are marked CALVERT SUPER DELUXE. There is no country of origin on them. One has a red dot mark on the bit and the other has a C in a circle. I am in Canada and the bulk of the pipes are Brigham's (the owner had a favorite sportsman model and the lot included 30 plus identical. I am wondering if Calvert could have been a store brand of Fader's? I would add pictures but I cannot seem to operate that feature. --Hdm1950 (talk)

: I looked up Calvert in "Who Made That Pipe" by Herb Wilczak and Tom Colwell. They indicate Calvert was made in the US by Harry J Gorfinkel, circa 1941. I don't know if he was an individual pipe maker, or that was a company or distributor. Not much to go on, I'm afraid, but there you have it! --sethile (talk) 13:54, 10 July 2015 (CDT)

Thanks for that update and I have just searched Harry J Gorfinkel and have come up with similar information.
I discovered that using links to the "Special:MyLanguage" namespace lets Mediawiki think these pages are orphaned (see Special:LonelyPages). I think it doesn't make sense to use "Special:MyLanguage" for not translated pages. That's why I will remove these. If this proves to be a dumb idea we can revert my changes. Calvert Super Deluxe

Special:MyLanguage

I discovered that using links to the "Special:MyLanguage" namespace lets Mediawiki think these pages are orphaned (see Special:LonelyPages). I think it doesn't make sense to use "Special:MyLanguage" for not translated pages. That's why I will remove these. If this proves to be a dumb idea we can revert my changes. Magna (talk)
