:Somewhere between 600 and 1000 pixels wide seems to be a good range. By using thumbnails and/or gallery spots in the articles we can accommodate a nice fit with the context while still allowing for full sized images when they're clicked on. Takes a while to get the hang of how that works, but I'll be happy to help if you hit any snags.
