We have the following patent application filed Oct. 30, 1944 and granted February 1946 to one Kurt Vonnegut. Interesting in part due to the well known author by that name. The dates would indicate the author would have been about to turn 21 on the filing date, and sadly, he was a World World II POW at that time, having been captured by the Germans in the Battle of the Bulge.

We have the following patent application filed Oct. 30, 1944 and granted February 1946 to one Kurt Vonnegut.[1]

Interesting in part due to the well known author by that name.[2] The dates would indicate the author would have been about to turn 21 on the filing date, and sadly, he was a World World II POW at that time, having been captured by the Germans in the Battle of the Bulge. On the other hand, his father, an architect, had the same name and was 60 years old at the time.[3]

The patent is courtesy of Doug Valitchka. If you have any information, please add it here, or send it to sethile.pipes@gmail.com and we can add it for you.
