Golden Horn

Golden Horn was an exporter of meerschaum pipes from Turkey to California. They were the first company to market the work of Ismet Bekler, later of CAO fame. Bekler pipes for Golden Horn were sold in cases which contained a gold foil label stating "Exclusively by Golden Horn Genuine Bekler" over a stylized "G" with a category name below. Some were marked "Beyond Imagination", and others "Imperial Heroes" as shown below.

The Golden Horn is an inlet on the Bosphorus, which forms a peninsula where the old city of Istanbul is located. Golden Horn exported pipes from many carvers, but it is believed that only Mr. Bekler's pipes were signed with his name. The name Golden Horn was never trademarked in the United States, and the name "Bekler" was only trademarked by CAO in 2001, despite importing Mr. Bekler's pipes since 1977. Little else is known about the brand.
