Morell Mackenzie

Morell Mackenzie pipes. The actual person was Sir Morell Mackenzie, a British physician, one of the pioneers of laryngology in the United Kingdom, a throat specialist. He lived from 1837-1892.

There is known a BBB brand pipe with the model Sir Morell Mackenzie, and and example of a bulldog with hallmarked band to 1897.

Another example is one shown here, stamped MORELL MACKENZIE, FRENCH MAKE, hallmark dated from Chesterfield with dating to 1924. The brand of this pipe is established by the hallmark of H.S. - M.S. which show it was made by tobacco pipe manufacturer named Maurice STRAUSS Henry SIMON – from London & Chesterfield, established 1905.
