Tobias Kaffl
Tobias Kaffl has been making pipes for a few years and is still more of an insider tip.
Nevertheless, he has already built up a good reputation, and pipe influencers such as Ralf Dings have increasingly drawn attention to him.
This is not surprising, as there are many new pipe makers these days, but few are as highly talented as Tobias Kaffl.
He is 37 years old, a carpenter by trade and lives in Bad Feilenbach in Bavaria. In addition to making pipes, he is a passionate climber and enjoys travelling in the great outdoors.
His pipes are very harmoniously shaped and his craftsmanship is outstanding. Danish design is clearly his favourite style.
Despite the fact that he hasn't been making pipes for very long, his pipes appear surprisingly ‘mature’ and well thought out. A sure sign of his great talent.
Pipes with bamboo shanks, decorations of precious woods, bush-hammered birch or horn are particularly common. Depending on the type of construction and whether there is enough space in the pipe stem, Tobias Kaffl also builds pipes with a 6mm or 9mm bore.
