Opera Shape

The Opera Pipe. Compact and oval-bowled to fit discreetly in a vest pocket for a quick smoke between acts.

Aspas-copy.pngYes, that is correct, the flattened head of this “Evening Dress” shape (in our terminology) was exactly developed for that purpose.Aspas.png Hener, K. S., Product Line Director - The White Spot Smoker's Accessory Division and Walthamstow site.

We've been talking to Mr. Hener about the Opera shape and, he sent us this incredible information:

I found a reference in our catalogue ”About Smoke - fourth Edition” from 1922.
There were in fact three (!) flat bowl QUAINT shapes shown, two were straight and one was bent.

  • Straight: originally Quaint shape “FS”
  • Bent: originally Quaint shape “FC”
  • Straight: originally Quaint shape “FB”, a flat Bulldog.
