BriarWorks International was founded by Todd Johnson, who also acts as the current CEO. In the Spring of 2013, Todd hired his protege Pete Prevost or Prevost Pipes. Together, the two of them, along with the company’s Director of Operations, Rita Spellings, spent the rest of 2013 building a facility in Nashville and setting up what has become the only American pipe factory that produces exclusively in the United States.
BriarWorks International currently produce two lines: The Neptune line, which features high grade designs, oil curing, and solid ebonite mouthpieces, is distributed by BriarWorks International, and the Icarus line, which features single-source briar, precise engineering, and impeccable finishing. The Icarus line is distributed in the US through Music City Marketing, and internationally through BriarWorks International.
The Neptune and Icaris lines were debuted at launching party at the Chicago Pipe show in May of 2014. They are very impressive, especially considering the price point.
