Gilbert Guyot was born in 1938, and began making pipes in 1961. He is now retired. He is the son of the artison, H. Guyot, who also had a brand with his name, and who between 1921 and 1923, worked for GBD.de in Paris.

Gilbert, the last pipe artisan in the French capital, received the title 'Meuilleur Ouvrier de France' in 1994, and is the author of Les Pipers Francais -- Histoire et Tradition
