Biography: Jean Lamy was born in 1914 at Azans (Jura FR). From 1925 - 1939 he served as typographer at a printing company in Dole, and then at the newspaper "Le Bien Public" in Dijon (FR). He entered the "Compagnons de France" in 1942, which brought him to stay in Saint-Claude where his office was next a pipe maker's workshop.

Two commercial travelers carried out sales at the national level, and Jean Lamy was regularly on tour in French regions to promote his own pipes.
