Work in Progress

This page still needs more work to improve grammar, spelling, and overall coherence. At current, the page does not follow a clear and concise timeline of events, which may lead to some confusion to a reader. --Rondyr

Thanks for your work on this! It's much improved. Please feel free to re-arrange it to be less confusing. --sethile 09:46, 28 November 2012 (CST)

Kind of wood?

Would like to know what kind of wood that Dr. Grabow's pipe bows are made of. --Taztime

Most have been made from Briar, although I remember hearing they used Mission Briar during the years of World War II when traditional briar was difficult to get. Mission briar was likely the top root section of the Manzanita tree, much like traditional briar is the top root section of the heath tree (Erica arborea). They also made metal pipes with briar bowls at one point. More info here on Dr. Grabow, although the article does not expand on the materials they have used over the years that much.
