'''George Bushee''' was Ehrlich’s last pipemaker. During the 1970s and early 1980s he finished a number of bowls which were turned somewhere around 1903 to 1913 by Ehrlich’s of Boston and…had been forgotten. Some seventy years later, they were discovered by Bushee who would finish them when he wasn’t working on one of his own pipes. All were finished to their period specifications and Bushee would look out for period stems and bands to keep the pipe as it might have appeared at the turn of the 20th Century. The pipe shown above was one of the last pipes he made, as he had been looking for the right gold band to place on this pipe for years. As these bowls were made by someone else, he did not place is initials "GB" on them, even if he finished them.

In a reply to the article on Ehrilich's on the [https://vkpipes.com/pipeline/ehrlich-special-grain/ VKPipes] website about the brand, Richard Bushee wrote the following comment:
<blockquote>I read your article regarding the David P. Ehrlich Co. and definitely feel the need to make comment on your history of the company. It is true the Ehrlich’s began in 1868; however, the company continued in retail business into the 2000’s. I know this as fact as I was the Assistant General Manager/Buyer until I left in 1984 to pursue a graduate degree. In 1980 I represented Ehrlich’s at the Dunhill Principal Pipe Dealers Conference in London.
My father, Ehrlich Pipemaker/Pipe Repairman, George Bushee retired from Ehrlich’s in 1986 and continued making handmade briar pipes for Ehrlich’s at his home for a few more years.
Thank you for your article which I just came upon today.
Sincerely
Richard Bushee
