A very good friend of mine is a young lady who took an interest in pipe smoking last year. She was very soon to be married to a young man, who also smokes pipes. So, what's a pipe maker to give such a couple as a gift? A wedding pipe set, of course! | |||
The pipes are made from one piece of plateaux briar from the Calibria region of Southern Italy (at the toe of the “boot”). Before cutting the briar into the rough shapes for the two pipes it was destined to become, I cut a thin slice from the face and set it into the top of the box. | |||
